Cadillac Used Vehicles

How often do you meet Cadillac owners on UK roads?

The answer is most definitely not very often! Even when you do see one, the chances are you wouldn’t recognise it as a Cadillac anyway. I bought myself a second hand Cadillac CTS a couple of years ago! In all the time I’ve owned it I have never come across any other Cadillac owners.

In some ways this is strangely satisfying as it makes for a good topic of conversation, and people are always asking lots of questions about it. On the other hand however it can be a little frustrating for someone who is as much of a car lover as I am when you haven’t got anybody to talk in detail to about your motor. I think one of the key reasons as to why Cadillac vehicles are so rare in the UK, apart from the fact that they’re mainly sold in the US, is that people really don’t know much about them so they don’t come into consideration.

I would love it if there were more Cadillac owners in the UK so I’m going to talk a little today about some of the vehicles which are currently available.

Cadillac Owners: SRX

The Cadillac SRX is a medium to large sized crossover which was first produced in 2004. The 5-door SUV has space for five passengers and costs between £26,000 and £35,000 to buy brand new. This is actually very reasonable considering that it is a luxury crossover. The SRX is currently sold in its second generation, as it has been since 2009. It is available with a wide range of engines which are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Personally, what impresses me most about the SRX is the range of equipment which is provided as standard.

The superb technology on offer really complements the undoubtable quality of the cabin itself. The cabin has been crafted with premium materials and offers acres of headroom and legroom for passengers. You can buy a second hand Cadillac SRX for as little as £6,000, which represents fine value in my opinion. The SRX certainly does have an American feel to it and as such fuel costs are rather high – I believe this is why there are so few on UK roads.

Cadillac Owners: BLS

A more frequent site in Britain is the Cadillac BLS, which is a medium sized executive car. It was produced between 2005 and 2010 and was actually marketed mostly in Europe.

The BLS is available as either a 4-door saloon or a 5-door estate. Both of which provide a generous amount of room for passengers. Its exterior styling is very distinctive and, like the SRX, it comes well equipped. Second hand Cadillac BLS models usually cost around £4,000.

Cadillac Owners: CTS

One vehicle I can most definitely vouch for is the Cadillac CTS. As I mentioned I have now owned mine for a few years. I can honestly say I have been impressed with every aspect of it since the day I picked it up.

I originally bought it because I was looking for a luxury saloon to replace my BMW 3 Series. The CTS is a really attractive vehicle in my opinion (it is also available as a 2-door coupe or a 5-door estate). But aside from the aesthetics it has delivered strong performance throughout the time I’ve been driving it. The engines pack a real punch which makes the CTS a fun car to drive whether you’re out and about in town or putting your pedal to the metal on the motorway. Used Cadillac CTS cars are available for less than £5,000 – maybe when you buy your next car you’ll consider a Cadillac.
